Here are some helpful tips to look over prior to your dance lessons! If you have any questions that you don’t see on this page, do not hesitate to reach out, Get Up And Dance is happy to help!

  • Do I need a partner for class?

    No partner necessary! As a professional dancer and instructor for over 25 years, I can be your partner, lead or follow. In group classes, we switch partners throughout the session.

  • What shoes do I wear?

    For ballroom and Latin classes, you are encouraged to wear dress shoes that are comfortable! Should you want to pursue the dance even more, you are more than welcome to purchase your own ballroom or Latin dance shoes, Get Up And Dance is happy to advise!

    For classical dances like jazz, ballet, musical theatre, and contemporary, barefeet and socks are fine, though you are encouraged to get ballet slippers and jazz shoes should you want to.

  • What do I wear to dance class?

    At Get Up And Dance, we want you to be comfortable, you can wear clothes that give you ease of movement. You are of course encouraged to dress for the occasion too!

  • How do I choose which dance(s) to learn?

    There are so many wonderful options to choose from! If you don’t already have an inclination to a particular dance or dances- I am more than happy to give you your best options. Also, if you like a particular style of music, that can also give you an idea! At GUAD, we believe that over time, the more dances you know, the better off you will be!

  • Do I need to schedule my lesson(s) in advance?

    All private lessons do need to be scheduled ahead of time on an individual basis, and you can contact Leah to do so. All group classes are listed with an updated schedule on the Group Class page on this website.

  • What method of payment is accepted for lessons?

    Get Up And Dance accepts many payments, including Venmo, Paypal, Cashapp, Check (made payable to Leah Boresow Dance), cash, and credit card. All payments must be made prior to the initial service in order to receive your lesson.

  • What is the refund policy for classes?

    There typically are no refunds for any a la carte classes purchased. If you are not able to attend your dance class for an urgent reason, please email GUADatlanta@gmail.com and inquire about receiving credit for future classes at the studio.
